87DP57005 1957 Dodge D100 Sweptside Pickup Ice Blue/Glacier White

Chrysler introduced their Dodge series of post-war pickups in the 1950s with B and C lettering.  The D series was launched in 1957 as the Sweptside. However, the model was not a success and after an estimated production run of only 1000, it was discontinued in 1959. It may be for that reason that it has since become highly desirable and collectable, selling for very high prices, where there is one to be had.

Much more affordable is our 1:87 scale Oxford replica which appears this time in a two-tone colour scheme of pale blue and white. Making a change, it hails from Canada, registered in British Columbia as 187.934. The white body has a pale blue masked cab roof, lower body and side flash with the pale blue continuing across the lower front section which houses the sidelights. To the rear, the Dodge name is picked out in pale blue against the tailgate. The usual whitewall tyres also feature on the pickup and a fine detail on the chrome hubs sees the red Dodge badge in the centre. Finally, the interior is moulded in steel  blue and incorporates a white steering wheel.
