History:

Introduced in the late 1960s, the 100-tonne TEA tank wagons were built by manufacturers including Standard Wagon Company & Chas Roberts, Powell-Duffryn, Marcroft Engineering and Greenbrier Europe, with hundreds produced through to the mid-2000s. 

Designed to transport large volumes of hazardous liquids between refineries, ports and storage facilities, they were often operated in long rakes behind powerful locomotives such as the BR Class 37 and Class 60. Owned and operated by companies including Esso, EWS and VTG, many remain in service today."
